Brahmacharini Mata – Mantra, Katha, Aarti & Bhog
On the second day of Navaratri, Brahmacharini Mata, the second manifestation of Maa Durga, is worshipped. Goddess Brahmacharini signifies love, loyalty, wisdom, and knowledge. Goddess Brahmacharini is depicted as walking on the bare feet. She carries Jap Mala (rosary) in her right hand and Kamandal in her left hand. She wears Rudraksha. Brahmacharini Mata Ki Katha (Story)
The word “Brahm” refers to Tapa and her name means -the one who performs Tapa. Going by the story, Brahmacharini Mata was born to Lord Himalaya. Devrishi Narada influenced her thoughts and as a result, she practiced severe penance to obtain Lord Shiva as her divine consort. She performed hard austerity, due to which She was called Brahmacharini. It is stated that She spent 1,000 years on a diet of flowers and fruits and another 100 years on a diet of leafy vegetables while sleeping on the floor. She followed a strict fasting regimen while staying at an open place in the scorching heat of summers, harsh winters, and stormy rains. Her penance was so pure and had so much power that her desire to obtain Lord Shiva as her divine consort was eventually fulfilled.

Brahmacharini Mata Ka Bhog
Brahmacharini Mata is offered offered sugar candy (Mishrti), milk and panchamrit as bhog. By donating also these things, you can also get the good fortune of long life.
